Job Description

Eurofins Test America, Inc is searching for a Wet Chemistry Supervisor in Knoxville, TN.

The Wet Chemistry Supervisor provides technical and operational support to a specific laboratory area while participating in daily sample production. Responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling and prioritizing work tasks, training, problem solving, implementing new procedures and methods, analyzing samples, reviewing and validating data and completing reports.

1. Coordinates work projects with project managers to appropriately prioritize laboratory workload to meet client requirements.

2. Manages in-house projects for an assigned department to ensure on-time delivery (OTD) and turnaround times (TAT) requirements are met.

3. Release samples to laboratory personnel and communicates due dates and update turnaround times (TAT’s).

4. Supervises Analysts to maximize productivity and ensure appropriate testing procedures in compliance with quality assurance (QA) and standard operating procedure (SOP) requirements.

5. Communicates department issues and provides status reports to next level of Lab Management and Project Managers.

6. Assist Department Manager to evaluate individual performance in yearly performance review as well as providing feedback on an on-going basis to lab personnel.

7. Responsible to ensure proper training all new analysts and develops staff on skills, equipment and procedures.

Secondary Duties

1.Preparing department reports as assigned by laboratory management.

2.Tracking department productivity.

3.May perform department safety inspections to maintain EH&S requirements.

4. May have input into hiring and firing decisions

5.May stock and order supplies as needed.

6.May dispose of samples according to EH&S requirements.

7.May clean work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.

8.Assists other laboratory departments as needed.

9. May prepares and analyzes samples for analysis based on method requirements.

10. May reviews data produced in assigned department and authorizes its release.

11. May operates and maintains sophisticated analysis instrumentation requiring advanced and specialized knowledge.

12. Creates and updates department standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Knoxville TN are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

BS/BA in Chemistry or related field

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting.

Knowledge

· Analytical and/or General Science

· Quality Assurance Plan

· Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures

· Laboratory safety rules and chemical hazards

· Maintenance of laboratory instruments

· Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures

· Knowledge of effective supervisory and management skills

· Government contracting regulations

· Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
