The position plays a vital leadership role in the business unit, driving understanding of sales and market share growth, gross margin expansion, operating profit growth, and return on investment.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the business unit leader in developing strategies to maximize share gain and profitability

Owns full P&L for area of responsibility.

Manages and analyzes the impact of inflation, ensuring gross margin expansion through price and productivity.

Provides weekly, monthly, and annual forecast for revenue, gross margin, and operating expense.

Utilizes advanced reporting tools to deliver a suite of metrics and KPIs to business unit leaders.

Delivers analysis and insights that enhance decision making and create value for the organization.

Collaborates cross functionally with sales, operations, product management, and other finance functions to solve challenges for internal and external customers

Ensures processes are in place to execute deliverables consistently, timely, and accurately.

Interprets data and insights to determine industry and consumer trends and pursue new business opportunities within that business’ area of expertise.

Evaluates potential M&A opportunities and potential expansion into additional market adjacencies

Analyzes prices and product line assortments to balance market share gains and profitability.

Supports the management of vendor relationships and supplier contracts including pricing, rebate and co-op as well as compliance with MSC terms and conditions.

Works collaboratively with the MSC Strategy team on key adjacencies as part of the strategic growth roadmap.

Drives productivity/cost savings initiatives in partnership with the senior leadership team

Implements processes that improve quality and eliminate rework

Ensures effective internal controls and compliance with MSC’s accounting policies and procedures.

Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.

Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, business, or equivalent

Minimum of six years of related experience required

Proven track record of providing strong finance partnership

SKILLS:

Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

In depth knowledge of financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting is required

Proficient in Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, Google Looker or similar data & analytics platforms

Experience using OneStream is a plus

An excellent communicator, who can engage and influence stakeholders on complex initiatives

Comfortable delivering dissenting opinions supported by facts in a respectful manner

In depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required
