WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): Under limited supervision, support the smooth functioning of the Business Operations department, to include a diverse range of responsibilities, including event planning, logistics, facilities management, operational policy support, and more. The Associate contributes to the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the department through collaboration and proactive engagement with stakeholders. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
Events: Take the lead in planning and organizing various events, ensuring seamless coordination of elements such as catering, room setup, audiovisual arrangements, and stakeholder communication.
Logistics support, assist in logistics tasks, including ordering supplies, preparing correspondence, shipping materials, and facilitating visitor arrangements.
Operations SOPs: Contribute to the implementation and upkeep of operational policies encompassing HR, procurement, travel, and legal management.
Volunteer Coordination: May coordinate and train volunteers to assist with less complex daily transactional work such as data input, clerical support, etc.
Respond to internal inquiries and provide timely assistance to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental objectives.
Additional tasks: undertake any other task or responsibility as required by the manager or department, contributing flexibly to meet evolving needs and bolster team efficiency.
Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge; requires capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of operations experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Proven track record of successfully planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events, both small-scale and large-scale, within diverse settings.
Skills & Abilities: In-depth understanding of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual setup, and stakeholder coordination.
Ability to manage all aspects of event planning, from concept development to post-event evaluation.
Demonstrated experience integrating innovative approaches to solving humanitarian challenges.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
Experience working with and within the Red Cross/Red Crescent network is preferred.
Experience working with local/national partners.
Must be responsible and self-motivated.
Candidate must have strong verbal and written communications skills and must demonstrate familiarity with evolving industry standards.
Ability to work on a team.
