The role administers the Total Rewards disability benefit, utilizing comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar Plan(s), any applicable state or federal guidelines, medical documentation to make timely disability claim determinations. This role includes involvement in the development of Total Rewards communications and participation in Total Rewards related projects.Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Administers Disability Benefit, communicating with internal customers, medical providers and partnering with external vendors.
Analyze disability claim applications to determine benefits due to employee pursuant to Caterpillar Disability Plan(s) and per the utilization of case management guidelines.
Ensures compliance of administration of Disability Benefit and manages employee data in line with company policies.
Participates in Total Rewards related projects, interacting with consultants and internal partners
Skills needed for success in role:Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.Benefits Programs : Knowledge of employee benefits programs, processes, issues and considerations.Basic Qualifications:
2-4 years working experience in Total Rewards such as Disability and Claim Processor experience.
Relevant degree and/or equivalent experience
Must possess a working knowledge and understanding of compliance issues and be familiar with basic laws governing compliance.

Strong customer service through interpersonal skills in written and verbal form
Competence to interview claimants with the goal of setting claimant expectations and obtaining information necessary to administration.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications. Must be able to learn and navigate various on-line databases, such as but not limited to Workday and ODG.
Case Management, Medical/utilization review, risk management or forensic experience

This position would ideally be located in Peoria, IL ; however open to considering other Caterpillar facilities within the U.S. (candidates permanent address must be within 50-mile driving distance to a Caterpillar facility)
