Role Overview:

Alameda Health System is hiring! The Director of Infrastructure develops the strategic vision and establishing infrastructure direction for the enterprise; sets organizational infrastructure standards, technology policies and procedures, effectively communicate them to the organization and its partners and suppliers; responsible for assessing organizational technical needs and proposing appropriate technologies and services; develops and communicates the necessary direction and enforces policies for enterprise standards to ensure continuity of service; manages strategic vendor and partner relationships.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE : The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

Develops technology migration plans to support future organizational direction.

Develops long-range technology, communications and bio-medical architecture and strategy.

Represents the technology team in new facility construction and growth, and drives the technology requirements for Design and Construction as well as the coordination of Information Services, ITSS, Clinical Engineering, Security and other major technology consumers.

Manages and provides direction for all voice communications for the enterprise.

Provides enterprise-wide direction on the use of emerging technologies for IS, imaging, bio-medical and communications.

Provides insight and recommendations for the IS Executive Steering Committee regarding technology solutions to support business strategy.

Responsible for establishing technology governance and drives innovation and research of new solutions.

Provides leadership in the design and implementation of advanced technology solutions in infrastructure and communications.

Sets the agenda and chairs the Facilities Technology Steering Committee and other technology management committee meetings.

Aligns with Information Services directors in developing short and long range plans, and reviews these plans with the CTO and other enterprise (non-IT) management as necessary.

Manages complex vendor agreements and renegotiates as necessary to align with organizational objectives.

Works with suppliers to identify synergies for new opportunities.

Responsible for coordinating review and enforcement of Service Level Agreements with vendors.

Responsible for developing and maintaining the overall Technology Architecture framework for the Information Services organization.

Provides leadership to key technology projects and project managers as necessary.

Establishes and maintains multi-tiered Disaster Recovery approach and plan.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

A key requirement of this role is to stay current with on-going technology, tools and processes in the industry to ensure support of AHS’s business and clinical needs. As such, this role is expected to align with the AHS IS Department Training Program Guidelines and must meet the training requirements for this role. Training requirements for this role are documented in the AHS IS Training Matrix and will be updated as needed depending on advancements in technology, tools and processes as well as AHS’s evolving business & clinical needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education : Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field from an accredited university

Required Experience : Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience; five years leadership experience.
