DescriptionThe Innovation and Technology team is looking for highly motivated individuals to join a fun and fast paced technology organization that supports 30 different departmental industries within the County. The team is expanding to keep pace with the growing Southwest Florida population and have exciting projects and opportunities coming to the enterprise. The position of Server Technical Team Lead will oversee a group of System Administrator s responsible for the overall health, stability, and maintenance of multiple enterprise wide and department specific systems . Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the oversight and overall health, stability, and maintenance of the County’s server infrastructure systems and team. This includes legacy and future systems as they are implemented enterprise wide. This includes:
Organize and manage the server team to assure on time delivery of metrics and targets to achieve goals.
Plan, devise, build, configure and commission server and storage infrastructure equipment, and maintain various types of operational hardware and software.
Develop new infrastructure builds for new and upgrading of sites.
Prepare processes and procedures for the rollout and use of infrastructure equipment while ensuring compliance with the federal government.
Calculate performance levels of systems software and hardware to anticipate future requirements.
Develop short term and long-term plans for increasing capabilities, improving existing systems and updating equipment.
Responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring and maintain current and planned expansion platform.
Provide system configuration, administration, documentation, and technical support.
Provide operational support for maintenance, upgrades, and new deployments.
Assist with monitoring and management of network endpoints.
Interface with cyber security team to monitor and remediate issues.
Resolution of issues both with vendor and without vendor assistance.
Monitoring and allocation of space as needed on systems.
Ensuring security and efficiency of infrastructure.
Perform user/group administration, group policy, print services and research event log warnings.
Upgrade and patching of systems with new releases and models.
Documentation of systems both in and outside of the network.
Support and maintenance of the DR site (disaster recovery site).
Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide enterprise-wide advantage.
Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
After hour support of infrastructure as well as emergencies and disaster recovery.
Maintains customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns and answering questions.
Maintains a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
Identifies training opportunities and tracks for team members.
Interface with service providers and vendors to manage trouble tickets.
Plans installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools; assessing installation site; and preparing an installation diagram.
Documents work by labeling and routing equipment and cables and recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
Maintains up time by troubleshooting and repairing outages, testing network back-up procedures, and updating documentation.
Support 3 tiered applications
Education, Experience, LicensingMinimum Requirements:
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, or closely related field and two years project management, engineering, construction, transportation planning, public works, information technology, or closely related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
3 years’ experience with various server and infrastructure systems.
Knowledge in various operating systems, programming languages, recovery procedures, and industry best practices.
Technical skillsets to complete design, provisioning and system configurations.
Ability to coach junior members of the team.
Knowledge of system security and data backup and recovery.
Ability to physically install and configure equipment, connections, wiring and cable.
VMware design and management.
Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365.
Backup and replication.
Customer service experience.
Supplemental Information
The workdays and hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on-call as needed.
