Summary About the Position: This position is located at HQ, TRADOC, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield. Responsibilities Plan, research, develop, analyze and promote activities in support of TRADOC, DOD and DA command information initiatives. Serve as TRADOC Public Website/social media Content Manager, coordinating and assessing command corporate content and major themes on TRADOC platforms and its links. Write informational materials designed to reach internal audiences through media such as news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, pamphlets and radio, web, social media or television spot scripts. Use formal and informal research and marketing techniques and strategies to plan, develop and coordinate production of information materials to support TRADOC, DOD and DA command information initiatives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work such as 1) developing command informational products for web, social media and other outreach; 2) planning effective command information communication campaigns; AND 3) developing written public affairs products for employee and public communication. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communication Counsel Communications and Media Writing Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
