DescriptionDDI is currently seeking a full-time School Psychologist for our preschool program. Provide counseling, play therapy and social skills training, Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, write and monitor Behavioral Support Plans , Collaborate with teachers to develop classroom wide positive behavioral supports , Provide parent training. Serve as a member of the evaluation team: assess cognitive functioning, social-emotional, adaptive functioning, perform social histories. Communicate effectively with team members, parents, districts and service coordinators, Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills, abilities through appropriate continuing education, in-service training or higher education.Salary Range: $55,073.20-$66,084.20/year (35 hours/week)Responsibilities:
Provide therapeutic services according to mandated paperwork (i.e. IEP, IFSP)
Provide parent training and/or counseling
Provide required documentation for services that your program and/or supervisor have outlined for you
Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable and confidential manner
Communicate effectively with team members, parents, school districts and service coordinators.
Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills and abilities through appropriate continuing education, in-service training or higher education
Serve as a member of the evaluation team and complete all required paperwork—assess cognitive functioning, social-emotional development, adaptive functioning etc.
Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and write behavioral treatment plans
Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
New York State Certification in School Psychology
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Essential Physical Demands:
Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of children
Ability to move/transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet to place child on changing table
Must be able to move quickly after a child up to 200 feet to prevent elopement
Must be able to position self or maneuver classroom to facilitate student instruction in classroom and playground environment
Must have ability to follow oral and written directions and detect/respond to fire alarms
Must be able to ascend and descend stairs with railing
