The Capital Planning team within Citi Treasury is responsible for all aspects of capital analysis, forecasting and planning for Citi, including providing programmatic leadership for the management of the firm’s capital ratios, CCAR filings and related Capital Adequacy Assessments, and Recovery & Resolution Planning. The organization spans the capital planning continuum, led by the Head of Capital Planning.The Capital Planning team includes a dedicated Transformation function that articulates and executes the strategy by which Citi will achieve its Capital transformation goals and provides central leadership over the execution of the necessary remedial actions to deliver the firm’s target state for an integrated financial forecasting process to meet its transformation goals.The Head of Capital Transformation is responsible for defining, conveying, and implementing an overall vision for integrated planning, which includes an agile, controlled, governed and well-defined forecasting approach that drives effective decision making and effective management of the firm’s resources while supporting firmwide culture and strategic priorities. As part of these responsibilities, the Head of Capital Transformation will also ensure that the Capital Management and RRP outcomes of the transformation are likewise delivered in a high-quality and timely manner.The position will report into the Head of Capital Planning with a matrix reporting line to the Head of Finance Transformation and will involve driving alignment and achieving outcomes across the firm, including senior partners in the ICG/PBWM businesses, Finance, Independent Risk, and Technology.The role involves re-designing, defining, and implementing forecasting capabilities to support the Firm’s diverse planning needs including strategic, operational, and capital planning processes. This requires closely collaborating with the Head of Global FP&A, business and regional CFOs, Capital Planning leadership and their respective teams, along with collaboration across the businesses and 2nd/3rd lines of defense.This is a highly strategic and visible “build the bank” role that will provide significant exposure to senior management and will partner extensively with colleagues across the firm. The ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and excellent interpersonal skills are required given the high level of interaction with C-suite senior managers, auditors, and regulators.Reporting Structure and ResponsibilitiesThe Head of Capital Transformation will be responsible to:

Crystalize the definition, and convey and aggressively drive implementation, of the target operating model for firm-wide forecasting capabilities

Articulate the target-state vision and the related concepts to key stakeholders, including critical action steps required to reach that target state covering process design, modeling, governance, controls, data and technology.

Oversee the design and implementation of the capabilities required to support the target state

Drive interaction and accountability framework with partners across Finance, Risk and the front-office teams

Ensure rigorous E2E process design for true optimization of resource planning processes, to drive alignment globally and provide insight to business stakeholders

Management responsibility for a 60+ person team, including performance evaluation, compensation and hiring decisions.

Contribute to continuous team improvement and management (e.g., provide leadership in recruiting, coaching junior staff, etc.)

Qualifications

A highly visible, strategically minded senior executive

Minimum of 20 years relevant practical experience with a proven ability to drive change in senior FP&A and/or Capital Planning functions

You must be an experienced senior leader from a major consulting firm focused on FP&A and/or Capital Transformation. Industry-leading communication skills, including well-developed verbal, written and presentation skills.

Must be able to quickly create concise, informative executive summaries for internal and external stakeholders that convey a well-developed “story” and advocate for a well-reasoned point of view

Extensive experience presenting to and interacting with Board of Directors, C-suite executives and regulators. Significant familiarity with FRB and OCC regulatory requirements pertaining to capital, including but not limited to SR 15-18. Creative skills necessary to craft persuasive, well-researched narratives for senior consumption.

Aptitude for translating strategy into execution in a complex and cross-functional organization. Strong attention to detail with proven ability to distil complex ideas into simple stories.

Previous experience in FP&A or Treasury functions is strongly preferred. Strong audit / compliance instincts and ability to apply independent judgment to historical business practices, with a proven ability and willingness to challenge the status quo.

A self-starter with ability to independently manage work and drive multiple deliverables concurrently. Ability to gain consensus and agreement across disparate functions, products, and geographies.

Must have ability to stay ahead in a constantly changing environment. Must be a change agent, ensuring others understand current direction.

An undergraduate degree is required. MBA, CPA, or CFA is preferred.
