We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a TPM Project Manager.You will be responsible to assist the implementation of equipment at TPM site for the next generation product, managing schedules for low volume tooling through to full scale up volumes within a defined timeline, escalate deviations to approved timelines, and identify risk areas and mitigations. The role is responsible for supporting on time transition of equipment from arrival at the TPM site through hand-off to Operations for assembly of finished product, including commissioning and validation activities, with specific focus on fostering collaboration and continuous improvement to ensure the highest level of performance in all parts of the businessWHAT YOU’LL DOOperates within the TPM organizational goals and objectives, measures performance, and implements corrective actions when necessary. Provides guidance on root cause analysis.

Executes the organizational objectives and programs to reduce the total acquisition costs (product/component cost glide paths). Develops and implements consistent performance metrics for TPMs.

Third Party management – Facilitate strategic process changes with cross- functional teams for supplier management and material risk mitigation. Project coordinator for assigned TPM impacted programs such as product transfers, continuous improvement initiatives, material changes, validation of new manufacturing process, etc., providing oversight and guidance to Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory functions to ensure uninterrupted product/component supply. Ensures approved projects are within budget.

Responsible for facilitating and coordinating schedule of components to support on time launch and for managing schedules to setup processes and the infrastructure necessary to support material flow throughout the factory.

Become knowledgeable of TPM business, systems and processes through close work with Marketing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Regulatory, Legal, Supply Chain, and Logistics. Ensure TPM governance is operated within to ensure clear roles and responsibilities, review process and metrics. Execute agreed strategies to address TPM performance issues.

Evaluation and identification of performance capabilities of TPM. Leads activities to close gaps where applicable. Provides subject matter expertise during due diligence assessments.

Supports global supply chain, operations, and engineering to ensure commercial needs and requirements are met through effective and efficient TPM strategies.

Accountable to establish and maintain effective cross-functional communication and working relationships between Abbott and TPM

Coordinates internal and external resources to address issues and ensure supply

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Division policies and procedures.

Evaluates cost / benefit of various financial scenarios and makes recommendations to management.

Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements linked to manufacturing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGBachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Prefer experience in Project Management for implementation of new products or in high volume medical device environment. New product process development desired. Minimum 5 years’ experience. Proven history of delivering results and strong work ethic. Comfortable working in fast-paced environment with ownership and accountability. Experience in working across functional areas and possess an understanding of the various operational disciplines (i.e., Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Supply Chain). Strong oral and written presentation skills and ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Excellent problem solving and logical thinking skills. This position will frequently interact with the principal business owner or senior management staff at the Third-Party Manufacturer to discuss projects and negotiate issues and resolve problems. This position requires frequent travel to Third Party Manufacturers on short notice as business conditions demand.
