Job Description

NexGen is currently seeking a:

SQL SERVER DBA w/working SharePoint Knowledge

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

· Workonbuilding, configuring, and deploying SQL databases.

· Ability to managemultiple Database Servers, including administration, application configurations,upgrades, SQL approved backups and system patching.

· Performance Monitoring experience using various tools and scripted processes.

· Participate in meetings, workshops, and technicalassessments.

· Provide technical guidance and support for incident management and problem-solving to ensurecustomer satisfaction.

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor’sdegree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related disciplinepreferred but not required.

· Minimumtwo years (fiveyears preferred) of progressively responsible experience in designing, implementing, and administeringdatabase systems; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

· Strong SQL Database Administration.

·Minimum one year (three or more preferred) working knowledge of SharePoint with a willingness to learn more.

Qualifications

Technical Skills/Experience:

Experience in creating, maintaining, and upgrading databases and schemas.

· Ability to apply knowledge of memory management techniques, storage, and common database tuning techniques to ensure system performance.

· Must be able to monitor, log, and resolve database performance issues, response times for reports and transactions, unusual entries in the alert logs, trace files,failures,and free space.

· Experience with deployment of critical patch updates and security patches within a Government-Approved deployment and mitigation schedules to maintain a hardened and secure infrastructure.

· Experience with database optimization, performance tuning, backup and restoration, table space allocation/management, managing the overall health and status of the database, managing the database schema, creating triggers and storage procedures, monitoring alert logs, and resolving database-related issues.

· Perform and test backup and recovery processes. Leverage existing tools to perform daily exports and snapshots to reconstitute databases in the event of a failure.

· Document methodologies used in the administration of databases, execution of requests, and standard reporting.
