Earl's in Winston Salem is Hiring

Earl’s Restaurant and Bar is looking for all FOH staff: servers, bartenders, bar-backs, server assistants, banquet servers and hosts.

Below is a brief description of the available positions and required experience for each. We are willing to train the right candidates if you lack certain experiences.

Bartender: The purpose of the Bartender position is to prepare drinks for guests and to serve them in a professional and courteous manner. Drinks will also be prepared for the Food and Cocktail Servers upon request. This position will also involve, accurate order taking and serving food to the guests. The essential hospitality standards must be used at all times: eye contact, smile, speak first, and engage in polite conversation (if time permits). Minimum 2 years previous bar experience, craft cocktail, beer, and fine wine knowledge is a plus Willingness to learn and take direction are a must, must be willing to work both am and pm shifts.

Server: The purpose of the Server position is to serve food and beverages to guests in a timely, courteous, efficient and accurate manner. All functions are carried out to maintain an environment of teamwork. Minimum 2 years previous serving experience, knowledge of French cuisine and wine are a plus Desire to learn and willingness to take direction are a must, must be available for both am and pm shifts.

Barback: Assist the bartender with stock, cleanliness, equipment handling and maintenance. The position will also involve the serving of food and non-alcoholic beverages for the guests and service staff. All functions are carried out to maintain an environment of teamwork. Duties include but are not limited to preparing beverages for the service bar, stocking beer, wine, and liquor, clearing plates off the bar, refilling beverages, and assisting the bartender in any way possible to ensure the best experience for our guests. Minimum 2 years food and beverage experience, previous experience in fine dining is a plus Must be passionate and willing to learn and take direction. Must be available to work both am and pm shifts.

Server Assistant: Assist the restaurant and servers in every way possible to ensure the best possible experience for our guests. Duties include but are not limited to: running food, bussing tables, water service, polishing glassware, remarking and resetting tables. Minimum 1 year previous food and beverage experience, customer service experience welcome. Must be passionate and willing to learn and take direction. Must be available for both am and pm shifts.

Host: The Host or Hostess's basic function is to provide the guests, either on the phone or in person, with information and support in a professional and gracious manner. The Host/Hostess is essentially the face of the restaurant, you are the first face the guest sees upon arrival and the last face they see upon departure, it is your responsibility to set the tone of the guests experience ensuring they feel as pampered and comfortable as possible. Minimum 1 year previous customer service/hospitality experience, must be willing to learn and take direction. Must be available for am and pm shifts.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
