Job Description

Eurofins QC is a full-service environmental laboratory that has provided analytical chemistry and microbiological services to a diverse range of clients since 1943. Eurofins QC's analytical product array is focused on providing testing services that enable clients to meet their regulatory and monitoring requirements. Analytical data is produced within a quality system framework that provides clients with an accurate and representative portrayal of a sample's constituents. This data empowers them to make informed, confident decisions regarding future actions related to regulatory compliance requirements.

Laboratory Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs manual RNA extractions on wastewater samples.
  • Organizes daily samples and their long-term storage
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Reports all equipment, technical, or workload problems immediately to management.
  • Works during assigned hours and overtime or weekends when requested.
  • Maintains laboratory environment (cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, consumables inventory, media inventory, etc.).
  • Adheres to company health and safety policies; including eye protection, lab coats, and hand protection.
  • Demonstrates good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Enters the sample data into LIMS in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to lift objects in the lab less than 25 pounds.
  • Follows all company analytical and administrative Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by laboratory supervisor/director as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to properly use glassware and pipettes
  • Ability to effectively communicate (via phone, email, and face to face interaction)
  • Responsive problem solver and action oriented
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or 2+ years of higher education preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience in biological science
  • Must be organized and have the ability to efficiently execute work to completion to meet deadlines
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
