Responsible for the service, installation and repair of customer irrigation systems.

General Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Know and comply with the company’s safety rules, policies and OSHA regulations including injury/incident/near miss reporting procedures. Bring problems to attention Supervisor, Superintendent, Safety Director, or Human Resource Manager.

2. Clean and prepare site for sprinkler installation and set zones.

3. Dig trenches to lay pipe and holes for sprinkler head during sprinkler system installations.

4. Inspect irrigation systems for leaks, breaks or obstacles.

5. Replace sprinkler head parts or complete sprinkler heads.

6. Activate sprinkler systems at start of season.

7. Blow out sprinkler systems at end of season to prevent damage that could occur from freeze.

8. Repair and maintain valves, trace electrical components, install and initialize clocks and timers, locate existing zones and valves and perform pump repairs.

9. Ensure that customers are satisfied completely through effective communication, relationship building and regular site visits.

10. Complete daily job logs and daily job expense sheets completely and accurately. Report completed work and submit paperwork, time cards, and questions or concerns to Irrigation Superintendent in a timely manner.

11. Read and follow irrigation design plans.

12. Work with designers to install systems to customer specifications.

13. Relate to the public and to customers, engineers, architects and other visitors in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints, requests or comments.

14. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
