Newberg Jeep Ram, a locally owned and operated automotive dealership, has a rare opportunity for a driven, qualified and customer service focused Service Advisor to join our busy service department. We are looking for the right candidate who is energetic, can multi-task and has a positive can-do attitude. Must have great communication skills, attention-to-detail and be a natural team player that is dedicated to providing industry leading customer service. This is an excellent career opportunity and a great way to further your Service Advisor career with a top notch, busy dealership on Portland Road. WHAT YOU'LL NEED
At least one year of direct (two preferred) Service Advisor experience with related computer skills; CDK experience is a huge plus
Excellent communication skills with a customer focus and friendly, helpful attitude
Patience, empathy, conscientiousness, commercial awareness and a desire and willingness to learn
A smile on your face and in your voice at all times
Flexible schedule to cover dealership hours, including Saturdays
Current/valid driver’s license with an insurable driving recordWHAT YOU'LL DO
Build customer relationships through a proper meet-and-greet
Ascertain automotive problems and services by listening to customers' description of symptoms, conduct thorough inspections, check vehicle maintenance records, schedule and follow-up on customer appointments
Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and documents, explain provisions and exclusions
Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor
Calculate customer payment options, including deductibles, if applicable
Prepare repair orders (ROs) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required
Obtain approval signatures and enter RO's into service database system (CDK)
Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtain customers approval of estimates, letting the customer decide yes-or-no, obtain and provide contact telephone numbers and answer customer questions or concerns
Follow up on customer-declined repairs
Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
Continuously update job and product knowledge
Hold everyone accountable to the mission
