Part time available with the potential for future full time work

Our experienced doctor and staff offer comprehensive vision examinations, and are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases, conditions, and medical problems.

Advanced Eyecare is hiring an Optometric Technician. The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Doctor and provide customer service to patients by performing all preliminary patient work-up and necessary special testing, sales of helpful or necessary optical goods, and training new contact lens patients on care, insertion, and removal of contact lenses. The technician may also perform related work as directed, as well as cross training throughout all departments.

Responsibilities:

- Acts as a bridge between the patient and doctor

- Fosters a strong partnership between the retail environment and professional services.

- Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with the doctor.

- Answer phones; direct calls to appropriate individual/department.

- Sell solutions, contact lenses, specials, etc.

- Schedule appointments, confirm all patient appointments, and greet patients entering doctor's office.

- Enter new patient history and personal information in system.

- Complete pre-testing; obtain brief medical history, complete noncontact tonometry, auto refraction, visual acuity, etc.

- Perform advanced testing as necessary

- Instruct patients on wearing schedule, and insertion and removal of contacts.

- Maintain patient charts; update as necessary

- Maintain inventory; replenish as necessary.

- Maintain quality control standards; ensure total patient satisfaction.

- Assist Management Team with patient complaint resolution and inform the status of all jobs; ensure all patient expectations are met.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma required

- Customer Service Experience

- Dependability

- Experience in the medical field preferred but not required

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Ability to spend most of the day on your feet

- Flexibility/ability to work any open office hours

- Ability and drive to thrive in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities

- Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently

- Eligibility to work in the United States
