JOB SUMMARY : The Packer Lead is responsible for supporting the production lead on daily production activities; training, monitoring and helping the packer team understand the packing process and preparations.

This position involves supporting the production supervisors and leads for new hire training. This position supports all areas that need daily attention for production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Ensure every packer understands the tags and label positions

Train, monitor, and help the lines as needed.

Lead the packing process for production line.

Coordinate with machine operators to run efficiently

Train the packing team (newly hired) for packing preparations and maintain a fast-paced

process.

Identify the training opportunities and work with production lead to implement.

Ensure all supplies are regularly accessible for packers

Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements :

Preferred 2-3 years of manufacturing experience

A high school diploma or relevant education

Has a strong safety mindset

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of coaching, mentoring and training employees

Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a diverse staff

Proven track record of holding employees accountable

Works well with other team members, avoids conflict and is autonomous

Ability to self-start and take initiative

Promotes Cascades values (Naturally Respectful, Stronger Together, Fierce

Determination, Speak Truthfully)

An ability to lift up to 50-70 pounds

A high school diploma or relevant education

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job :

ª Ability to move quickly through warehouses and production facilities

ª Occasional requirement to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

ª Continual driving of the forklift between the warehouses

WORK CONDITIONS : The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job :

The work environment has a high volume of noise earplugs are provided if requested. Steel-toed shoes or boots are required.

Safety glasses (provided) are required in production areas. The incumbent is regularly exposed to airborne particles and outside weather conditions.

Care must be taken as large objects are moved in the area at all times.
