Transporter -DSP

Position Summary: The direct support Professional assigned to the agency shall have a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least (1) year of experience working with people who have a primary or dual diagnosis of intellectually or developmentally disabled and/or a mental health diagnosis. Members may have a current substance abuse issue.

DUTIES:

Transport members in the agency van for the purposes of pick up and drop off to the day program and appointments

Take agency vehicles to scheduled maintenance appointments

Complete monthly inspections of the agency vehicles

While driving you will provide constant monitoring and supervision of the members in the program.

Ensures that he or she is always alert and awake while on duty.

Follows and enforces program policies and procedures, particularly those policies and procedures related to safety, discipline and rewards, crisis intervention, and security.

Observes and corrects member’s behavior as necessary to ensure member safety.

Speaks with Agency Managers about concerns or issues of safety as it relates to the member(s) supervised.

Assists in the handling or emergencies or crisis.

Enforces program rules while on duty.

Understands and observes State and Federal laws concerning confidentiality.

Pay: $10 - $11 per hour
