Currently we have a position open for a full time Full Charge Bookkeeper to work out of our main office at Bear Creek in Waynesboro, VA.

This position will be Monday thru Friday, detail focused, fast paced, and team oriented. To be a good fit with our company, we’d like to see that you enjoy working with others on a daily basis. This role reports directly to the CEO and COO of Bear Creek.

Please note that this is NOT an entry level position. There will be no on the job training other than to familiarize yourself with our in house internal procedures.

Must have extensive experience in working with A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, month-end closing, preparation of JEs, payroll, payroll JEs, payroll reconciliations, P&Ls, collections, budget preparation and budget management.

Key responsibilities of this position:

- Perform daily data entry bookkeeping tasks and administrative tasks related to the role.

- Reconcile all banking and loan accounts on a regular and monthly basis.

- Provide accurate and regular financial reporting to the CFO & COO for review.

- File and report monthly sales tax and other related taxes.

- Manage all AR and AP accounts.

- Accurate calculations of inventory.

- Enter and Run payroll on a weekly basis and initiate direct deposit.

- Work directly with Bear Creek’s outside Accounting and CPA firm to maintain accurate reports on a quarterly and yearly basis.

- Maintaining, organizing and updating electronic files as needed.

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

- Must be able to work well one-on-one and in a team environment.

- Must be able to notice the details and execute on projects and other tasks on a daily basis.

- Must be able to take initiative and work independently as needed.

- Managing the full cycle of accounting activities for the company.

- Processing accounts payable.

- Preparing bank statements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience

- Must have 3-5+ years experience as a bookkeeper.

- Must have experience running financial reports and performing financial forecasting for a small-mid-size company.

- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and how they relate to the role of bookkeeping and financials.

- 3-5+ years working with Quickbooks along with a strong command of all it’s functions - both online and desktop versions.

- High proficiency in Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe PDF, and google Drive.

- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.

- Must be detail oriented, able to meet strict deadlines and know how to prioritize tasks.

- Must have reliable transportation and a smartphone.

- Job offers will be contingent on the passing of a background and drug test.

Compensation:

Compensation for this position will be between $35,360 - $43,680 annually for 40 hours per week based on experience.
