Direct Care Staff (CNA/NA)

Runk and Pratt Senior Living Communities at Smith Mountain Lake is looking for a dedicated and motivated direct care staff member to join our team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Must be able to perform direct patient care duties under the supervision of nursing personnel and to assist in maintaining a positive physical, social, emotional and spiritual environment for the residents.

Must be able to assist residents with daily tasks while providing companionship, mentorship, community support, behavioral support, and medication administration.

Provides resident supervision and/or assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinent care, transferring, feeding, communication, ambulation, and documents ADLs provided by employee.

Provides basic First Aid and CPR when necessary and maintains current certification.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or GED.

State Police background check that is free from barrier offenses.

The ability to meet Physical Requirements for Position.

At least every other weekend & holiday hours required.

Must be able to perform duties in accordance with the guidelines mandated by Social Services as the licensing agent of this facility.

Must hold a current and valid license as a CNA from the Virginia Board of Nursing/Department of Health Professions or a valid certificate of completion of 120 hours coursework or present a nurse aide certificate, PCA certificate or GNA certificate from a reputable and recognizable affiliation within the guidelines of the Board of Nursing.
