Island Hospital is an integral part of the great quality of life in Anacortes, Washington and we are actively recruiting for a multiple array of positions for Registered Nurses within Acute Care, Intensive Care and the Emergency Department!

We are designated as a Level III trauma facility with a Level II stroke center. We have 43 patient beds, including six intensive care, six labor & delivery, 31 medical/surgical beds.

The Registered Nurse Apart of Acute Care, ICU and/or the Emergency Department is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the administration of, observation, charting and reporting effects of medications, intravenous procedures, and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in a safe and accurate manner while operating within established policies, procedures and regulations. The Registered Nurse is an integral member of the patient care team and is expected to be a resource person regarding patient care, specialty area of nursing and development of other staff.

Acute Care Registered Nurse Requirements:

 A minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience is required

 Must maintain an active Registered Nurse license issued by the WA Department of Health.

 Must maintain active BLS certifications.

Intensive Care Registered Nurse Requirements:

 A minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience is required; candidates without prior ICU experience must have completed Critical Care Consortium classes.

 Must maintain an active Registered Nurse license issued by the WA Department of Health.

 Must maintain active BLS and ACLS certifications.

The RN for the Intensive Care Unit and Acute Care Unit may be required to float to the Acute Care Unit and/or Intensive Care Unti to support patient care and hospital staffing needs.

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Requirements:

 Must have advanced nursing skills and knowledge, demonstrate the ability to think critically, demonstrate an understanding of triage principles and take appropriate action, identify emergent situations and be able to perform in a calm and professional manner.

 A minimum of one (1) year of emergency department experience is required.

 Current Registereed Nurse License issued by the WA Department of Health required.

 Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification.

 Current Basic Life Support Certification.

 Curent PALS or ENPC Certificaiton.

 Trauma Nurse Care Curriculum (TNCC) must be completed within one (1) year of employment.
