As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic your primary responsibilities are to Perform maintenance, run diagnostics and repair a variety of diesel vehicles, on and off road mining equipment and on road dump trucks and concrete mixer trucks. The Mechanic Assistant will service trucks performing LOF’s, DOT inspections and brake repair.

Duties

Diagnose and repair all types of gas and diesel equipment, including, but not limited to, excavators, dozers, off-road trucks, wheel loaders, water & lube trucks, service trucks, pickups, dump trucks/trailers, mixer trucks, and other support equipment

Troubleshoot, repair and replace ignition systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, lighting systems, electrical/computer control systems, radio systems and ABS brake system

Perform welding and fabrication on mobile and stationary plant equipment as needed

Check, prioritize and repair equipment write-ups based on safety issues, customer service issues, PM issues and less critical issues

Repair and maintain shop tools and machinery

Make field and emergency repairs as needed

Skills/Requirements for Fleet Mechanic

Minimum 3 years' commercial vehicle mechanical experience

Work varying work shifts with varying start times and end times including rotating Saturdays (every third Saturday). Overtime work required when necessary

Strong organizational skills, excellent time management and ability to work unsupervised

Valid Drivers' License with safe driving record

Physical Requirements

Frequent bending, climbing, pushing, pulling frequent lifting of 50lbs., occasional lifting 75 lbs., stretching, driving/sitting, using pneumatic and power tools.
