THEATER ASSISTANT MANAGER - Job Description

Assistant Managers are responsible for helping oversee day-to-day operations of the theater, and for ensuring the best QUALITY experience for our customers. It is the Manager's responsibility to ensure that proper procedures and company policies are followed at all times. The Assistant Manager must be able to perform any job in the theater if necessary. The following is a general outline of the Assistant Manager's responsibilities and requirements.

Assistant Managers are in-part responsible for the theater's daily revenues. This includes overseeing cashiers, counting and verifying nightly receipts, and safely depositing cash at the bank. They are also responsible for the preparation of all reports and their submission to the head office in a timely manner.

Assistant Managers are responsible for overseeing the theater personnel. This can include interviewing potential new employees, scheduling employees, and delegating work assignments based on the best needs of the theater and company. Assistant Managers must ensure that employees follow company policies and provide professional and courteous customer service. They must also be able to resolve conflicts between employees and communicate any problems to the head office.

Assistant Managers are responsible for the overall profitability of the theater. This includes working within budgets for payroll, maintenance, advertising, and other items, and making decisions based on the best value for the company.

Assistant Managers are in-part responsible for all theater operations, and must be willing and able to perform all theater tasks, working in all work positions, from scrubbing floors on hands and knees, to working with tools at the top of a 20 foot ladder.

Candidates must be willing and available to work any scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The theater operates during the general public leisure time, and these are the times that assistant Managers must be available to work. Candidates must also be available to handle problems at the theater.

The General Manager may delegate some of his or her routine administrative duties to the Assistant Manager, so the assistant must be well-organized and able to carry out instructions in a timely manner. The Assistant Manager will supervise the theater operations on the General Manager's days off.
