General Finishes (www.generalfinishes.com) is a manufacturer of wood coatings including stains, paints and clear topcoats, and is the nation’s leading innovator of water-based wood coating technology.These products are sold across the US and beyond through retail paint, hardware, and woodworking stores.We are currently seeking a younger skilled salesperson to manage the GF sales effort in the southeast U.S., a major territory consisting of at least five states.
STARTING PAY: 60K+ WITHSIX-FIGURE earning potential within 3 years.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
-Base salary of 60K+ plus

-401k with up to 6% company match (after 6 months)

-Paid travel expenses
QUALIFICATIONS
-A bachelor’s degree in a business or chemistry related field is preferred but not required
-Must be very personable and comfortable with sales process including making in-person cold-calls
-Must be comfortable with regular overnight travel (Expenses paid)
-Ability to learn and retain in-depth technical product knowledge
-Experience with wood coatings is beneficial, but not required
-Must be organized and professional both in work habits and appearance
EXPECTATIONS
-Gain in-depth product and market knowledge via factory training
-Add new retailer accounts by getting our product placed in stores with a goal of approx. 1 store per month average and/or $40k per year in total new account sales.
-Grow existing account sales with a goal of 5% per year
-Compile and submit applicable reports to management
Preferred - relocation to East Troy (Milwaukee) Wisconsin area but will consider highly qualified candidates that live in the sales territory region.
