Our Meat Department understands the importance of quality in the centerpiece of your meal. As a Meat Cutter, you’ll be part of a team of the most experienced and talented butchers in Madison.

You will have a variety of tasks, working with the finest service case in town, and every day will bring new experiences and interactions!

As an experienced Meat Cutter, you’d come in with the knowledge to ensure our shoppers have the fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products they expect to see at Metcalfe’s.

What you’ll do

- Provide amazing service to your shoppers and fellow teammates

- Handle food safely and keep everything fresh and clean

- Cut, grind, portion, weigh, price and label, and create value-added recipes!

When you’ll work

- Flexibility required between 6a and 9p including weekends and some holidays

What you’ll need

- High school diploma or GED

- 2 years experience as Apprentice or equivalent

- Food Safety Certification preferred

What you’ll get
