Access Alaska is seeking a temporary Medicare Counselor to assist consumers and community members during open enrollment period.

An ideal candidate will be a currently certified Medicare Counselor and have experience in the human services field. This individual will provide information, education, as well as individual counselling to Medicare beneficiaries. This position is open to State of Alaska residents as services will be provided remotely to support this program which is housed in our Fairbanks location.

Essential Functions: Provide information and enrollment assistance/counseling to Medicare beneficiaries during 2020 open enrollment period. Work directly with consumers to assess their needs and provide appropriate information or assistance as needed. Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills. Great interpersonal skills and commitment to providing quality customer service. Data entry in required databases while collecting, analyzing, and maintaining all data and information applicable to the program and its participants.

Position Requirements: Currently certified Medicare Counselor. Knowledge related to Medicare and enrollment process. Experience working with seniors and individuals who experience disabilities preferred. Knowledge of state and community resources, disability/senior benefits etc. is useful.

Job Type: Temporary, October 2020 – December 2020

Salary: $17.21 to $21.21 DOE
