Pay for our Membership Specialists starts at $44,000 annually.

GSAK is looking for a Membership Specialist to develop, retain and increase girl/adult membership, provide ongoing support to volunteers, develop and implement plans for membership growth and represent Girl Scouting in the community through presentations, partnerships and networking. This position is based in Juneau and serves girls/volunteers throughout the council. .You Are:

A team player and able to work in a fast-paced, professional environment. Also able to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities.

Self-starter, seeking opportunities to work collaboratively.

Highly organized, dependable, and creative.You Will:

Recruit and register girls and volunteers as Girl Scout members:

Coordinate and host in-person and virtual recruitment events for girls and informational sessions for adults.

Promote Girl Scouts to potential members and the community at large by participating in community events.

Network with schools, social service agencies and other youth development agencies to ensure Girl Scouts is available to a diverse membership.

Represent Girl Scouts at community events.

Implement new, innovative recruitment strategies based on Girl Scouts of the USA trainings and webinars.

Use GSAK databases to provide prompt assistance to members and the public:

Assist parents to place girls in troops.

Ensure volunteers have satisfactory, current background checks

Assist parents and volunteers in renewing their membership annually. <

Use daily reports to ensure data quality.

Update troop meeting information in the public online catalog.

Document all communication with parents and volunteers

Analyze data to create and implement strategic recruitment plans

Track membership goal progress.

Provide ongoing support to volunteers:

Consistently check in with volunteers to answer questions and provide information and guidance.

Proactively communicate information and respond to phone calls, texts and emails promptly.

Train volunteers on their roles, responsibilities and techniques for success.

Coordinate access to and maintenance work for the office building:

Order/reorder supplies as needed.>

Assume responsibility for troubleshooting and coordinating maintenance of office equipment, grounds, and building needs.

Provide access to realtors and contractors as needed.

Other duties as assigned.You Need:

Ability to think critically and make decisions.

Strong computer skills including the ability to learn how to use the GSAK database to its fullest potential and how to use the Microsoft Office Suite to facilitate office functions.

Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with volunteers, parents, staff, girls and families.

Ability to lift and carry at least 35 lbs.

Valid driver’s license, liability insurance and access to an automobile in working condition.

Ability to wear a face mask all day when required by local or state laws.

Satisfactory background check.
