Community Canvassers and Team Leaders - Help Get Out the Vote!

Hiring Immediately - $18-23/hr, Full-time & Part-time

The Outreach Team and New Georgia Project Action Fund are hiring door-to-door Canvassers and Team Leaders to engage with members of the community in a friendly and safe way and ensure every voter casts a ballot in the upcoming election. Black voters can be the most powerful in Georgia. It would have only taken 55,000 more votes for Stacey Abrams to become the first Black woman governor of Georgia, but nearly 900 thousand Black voters didn't vote in the Gubernatorial election two years ago. Those in power in Georgia have been actively making voting difficult but we are committed to helping lift the voices of People of Color and young people across the state.

We have experience doing this work during the COVID19 pandemic and have developed strict health and safety protocols that include a contactless approach to keep our staff and communities safe - we provide all of the training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) you will need!

Locations: Atlanta, Athens, Savannah & Augusta, GA

We are hiring immediately, all positions run through early November with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts run from 11:00am - 7:00pm weekdays, and 9:00am-5:00pm on weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time.

Canvasser Responsibilities ($18-21/hr):

- Engage with the public in a friendly and professional manner

- Deliver a compelling script, and collect complete survey answers from voters

- Strictly follow the campaign's safety protocols, including the use of PPE and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines

Team Leader Responsibilities ($20-23/hr):

-The Canvasser Responsibilities plus:

-Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day

-Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful

-Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work

The ideal candidate is:

-Charismatic, energetic, and passionate about civic engagement and fostering democracy

-Experienced with providing customer service; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing to speak with everyone

-Goal-oriented, determined, motivated and able to see the bigger picture

Prior canvassing experience is a plus but not required.

Pay: Base pay is$18/hr for canvassers and $20/hr for Team Leaders with the opportunity to earn an extra $1.50-$3/hr for working full-time. We also offer daily transportation and smartphone bonuses, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals ($300/referral). All full-time staff have the option to opt into our company healthcare plan.
