Organic Cafe Associate - Health Food Store

Our family-run, growing health food store is seeking a qualified candidate to work in our organic cafe. This job would be full-time and requires working Saturdays. Approximately 35+ hrs/wk. Must be available to start immediately.

Duties would include (but are not limited to):

1. Prepare homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, fresh juices and smoothies to order

2. Taste your food to ensure quality & consistency, including meats such as tuna and chicken

3. Maintain clean work environment, which requires cleaning as you work and after shifts

4. Being able to duplicate and follow existing recipes and procedures

5. Label, date and cover all food to meet safe health standards and practices

6. Manage and track inventory

7. Ensure compliance with all Florida Health codes and maintain high standards of cleanliness

8. Monitor and report food loss

9. Perform other duties, as assigned by Cafe Manager, Store Manager or Owners

Must Have:

1. 1-3 yrs culinary restaurant kitchen/café experience. Organic/natural experience preferred.

2. Able to perform physical requirements of an "on your feet" and fast paced job

3. Excellent understanding of quality, scratch food production

4. Ability to problem solve, prioritize and organize within a kitchen environment

5. Strong knife and general kitchen skills

6. Punctual, self-motivated individual who can multi-task and preform under pressure

7. Team player with “can-do" & friendly personality providing excellent customer service

Starting wage commensurate with experience. Tips are also a part of compensation.
