Executive Medical Director - Norton Thoracic Institute

Responsibilities

SUMMARY - The primary role of this position is to provide skilled management and strategic leadership functions for the Norton Thoracic Institute (NTI) in collaboration with the Norton Executive Physician, Norton Vice President, and the SJHMC executive hospital team that results in effective planning, strategy, quality, patient care, marketing, wellness, research, finance, education, and resource utilization across all Norton providers, departments and service line interface partners to include but not limited to inpatient intensive care units, cardiovascular operating room endoscopy, step down, and all ancillary areas.

This position provides physician oversight over such activities as Quality Management, patient safety, patient experience, Medical Staff Office, fostering a positive relationship with medical staff and any other duties as assigned.

This individual shall assume a facilitative role to assist the President of the medical Staff, its officers, and department chairs in carrying out their responsibilities in conjunction with the Executive and VP for NTI.

Sets policies and procedures and ensures all services meet the objectives and goals set forth for NTI and those of the organization.

MINIMUM

Medical degree or DO degree with an active medical license.

Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in specialty.

Minimum of five years (5) of management experience in health care.

Current, active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in at least one US state or territory and prior (or current) Board Certification in a specialty are required.
