OVERVIEW

The Executive Assistant serves as the assistant and right hand to the Lead Pastor with the purpose of helping the

Lead Pastor by assisting with developing solutions to difficult problems, project management, assisting with sermon research when needed, administration, organization, communication, time management, and staying ahead. The Executive Assistant must be a follower of Jesus, highly driven, comfortable making decisions and giving recommendations, and be able to have a good grasp on the ins and outs of ministry of The Pursuit to ensure the

Lead Pastor is informed at all times.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND CHARACTER TRAITS

Personal relationship with Jesus and a deep conviction and desire to see people give their lives to Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him. This is the most important attribute of all staff members here at The Pursuit.

Strong decision maker with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Must be pro-active, self-directed and require minimal supervision.

Detail-oriented with high standards of excellence.

Solid understanding of the Bible and Christian faith to assist with sermon research and development.

Strong writing, formatting, and proof-reading skills.

Strong computer skills (Mac preferred) including experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.

Manage and diffuse difficult situations with composure and professionalism.

Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations.

Strong multi-tasking skills with an ability to prioritize and perform complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with problem solving and project management as needed.

Assists with sermon research and coordinates creative elements of the sermon (slides, videos, props, etc) with the team that oversees Sunday services.

Fulfills all administrative tasks for Lead Pastor including taking minutes, filling out paperwork, PEX (expense) reconciliation, meeting coordination, keeping files.

Manage the Lead Pastor’s schedule.

Writes up and distributes meeting agendas and minutes and distribute action items. Follow up to ensure action items are being take care of.

Work with the Lead Pastor to develop his short and long-term schedule to ensure that the appropriate amount of time is scheduled to achieve goals and responsibilities in a timely manner as well as time set aside for time off.

Assist the Lead Pastor in ensuring that his direct reports have the information and resources from the Lead Pastor to complete their tasks and achieve their goals and responsibilities.

Keep informed on all aspect of ministry at The Pursuit and ensure the Lead Pastor is informed of anything he needs to be aware of.

Composes written communication on the Pastor's behalf including letters, documents, reports, minutes, presentations, and emails.

Carefully proofreads and edits all documents to be sent on behalf of the Lead Pastor.

Fields concerns and questions and referring them, when necessary, to the proper person(s) for resolution.

Maintains accurate records and files and creates systems for file management.

Helps Lead Pastor to coordinate special events.

Provides back up customer care and reception in the church office.

Performs any special assignments and any supplementary tasks and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous Executive Assistant experience is preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $16.00 to $22.00 /hour
