The Shop Manager is responsible for the profitability, performance and the effective maintenance practices on the equipment that Is serviced at their location. The Shop Manager is responsible to keep the fleet running safely and effectively to meet service operation goals. The Manager provides leadership and direction on all advanced technical functions to their staff to improve efficiency and productivity at their location. Job Duties

Ensure proper staffing of the maintenance facility to complete all scheduled and unscheduled services

Direct staff to perform tasks and directly supervise all shop functions

Manage employee relations, including payroll, benefits, attendance, productivity performance management, training, and employee development

Make sound decisions and give direction on complex diesel repairs and manage the warranty processing and warranty parts retention policies of the company

Direct the Parts Manager to procure parts in the most cost-effective manner and maintain the real time Inventory accuracy and proper sized parts Inventory based on company policy

Thoroughly understand all tractor maintenance, diagnosis, repair, root cause analysis of common Issues, and corrective steps to keep trucks running at maximum efficiency

Ensure URS brand Image is always maintained by verifying equipment Is branded correctly, clean, free of rust and painted to company colors.

Be well versed in all authorized company software systems to perform various aspects of their job duties effectively

Complete Shop Safety audits to ensure proper procedures and protocols are being followed; make recommendations to leadership and department to remain In compliance with company standards and DOT/OSHA regulations

Maintain a clean, orderly and environmentally compliant facility by utilizing Internal labor when times are slow to maintain shop upkeep and keep things organized.

Qualifications:

College Degree (preferred but not required)

At least 4 years of Management experience In Fleet Maintenance

Four years of experience as a Master Mechanic or Steel Fabricator (preferred but not required)
