Diesel Mechanic

Allstates Consulting Services has an immediate opening for a Certified Diesel Mechanic in the Louisville KY area. This is a Mon-Fri 7am to 5pm+ position. You would be maintaining a small fleet of Diesel powered trucks, Gas powered trucks and trailers. Most of the work is in Louisville area at the garage but there may be some out of town/overnight work where you have to travel a truck or trailer that cannot make it to the garage.Must have own hand tools. Specialty tools provided.If you have a CDL that is a big plus!

Job Description:

Motor Vehicle Mechanics are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of engines, typically in truck. This role is well suited to people who enjoy troubleshooting and solving complex problems. Applicants should be skilled in technical expertise, have analytical abilities, attention to detail, and great customer service skills. This is a full-time role and often involves weekend, evening, and overtime work as well. Motor Vehicle Mechanics often work as part of a team in repair shops—although issues occasionally are identified with computerized tools, this is a hands-on job where mechanics will commonly work with power tools, pneumatic wrenches, or welding torches to fix parts.

Responsibilities

Inspect vehicle engine

Inspect mechanical and electrical components

Diagnose issues timely and accurately

Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems

Conduct regular maintenance work such as replacing fluids, lubricating parts

Schedule future maintenance sessions

Advise motorists on good vehicle use

Act as an advisor and give useful advices for car maintenance

Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Qualifications

1+ years of experience as an Auto Mechanic or similar role

Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles

1+ years of experience with vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

Ability to handle various tools

Ability to multi-task

Good physical condition

Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Team player

Good time-management skills

Great interpersonal and communication skills

High school diploma is required

Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a plus
