Dewberry is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with a project team and assist in the design of building mechanical system (plumbing, fire protection and HVAC) projects for our Raleigh, NC office.

The position requires a strong technical background, excellence in design, attention to detail and quality control, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Local candidates preferred, no housing stipend will be provided.

Responsibilities

Job duties include the preparation of mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets for building mechanical and utility distribution systems under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.

The candidate should be able to work in diverse teams and be successful interacting with project team members, clients and contractors.

Written and oral communication and organizational skills are important throughout the design and construction process.

Required Skills & Required Experience

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Previous internship with a consulting engineering firm, a plus

Certification as an Engineering Intern (NCEES) and experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is a plus.
