Plant Operator

Position Overview:

At Gopher Resource, we are making the world a better place one battery at a time through the safe and efficient recycling of lead-based batteries throughout North America. As a Plant Operator, you collaborate with team members in the recycling process to meet team goals and ensure everyone's safety. Scheduled for 5 days on, 2 days off, we have availability for the 2nd shift (3-11pm) and the 3rd shift (11pm-7am) in the Furnace and Refining Departments. You will be fully trained on days before you begin your regular work schedule.

Meet and Greets held this coming Tuesday, 10/20 at 10:30 am, Wednesday, 10/21 at 11:30 am and Thursday, 10/22 at 10:30 am

Starting pay: $24.97/hour ($27.65/hour after 18 months)

Shift differential pay: .35 cents for 2nd shift and .50 cents for 3rd shift

Responsibilities:

Consistently follow all standard operating procedures at assigned work area in plant

Operate heavy mobile equipment safely and properly

Keep assigned work area clean and in excellent working condition

Work as part of a team and support fellow team members when needed

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required

Passing of all pre-employment testing which includes:

Math & reading proficiency exam

Criminal background check

Drug screen & physical

Previous work experience in heavy industrial manufacturing strongly preferred, but not required

Previous experience operating mobile equipment (e.g. forklift) preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

Ability to wear respiratory protection up to 10 hours a day with or without reasonable accommodation

Ability to work in a hot production area wearing protective clothing for up to 10 hours a day with or without reasonable accommodation

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 80 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
