BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT Responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Guides team members in continuous improvement initiatives for fiberglass boat manufacturing facility.

Responsible for various engineering assignments including feasibility studies and the introduction of new designs and products to manufacturing.

Provides production support to improve safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people. Utilizes Lean Manufacturing tools and methodology to reduce waste to streamline and improve quality process controls.

Coordinates with plant and department stakeholders to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities. Responsible for improving the flow of material and setting up cycle times Prepares and maintains detailed plant & line layouts.

Reviews manufacturing areas for potential safety hazards and assures that all safety practices are followed while implementing new processes;

incorporates quality control measures to increase productivity. Cost justifies various tools, equipment, and machinery. Manages & leads projects from concept through implementation.

Provides project leaders with support, tools, and training to achieve plant and department goals. Coaches and mentors project leaders in leading improvement teams to apply LSS process improvement methodologies and tools.

Coaches, mentors and assists Facility Lean Leaders in conducting continuous improvement events to include line balancing, time studies, and Yamazumi analysis.

Works with the Product Engineers for Design for Manufacturing opportunities. Determines Standard Work for New Models being developed.

Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS : Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering plus three (3) years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proven track record leading & contributing large cross-functional teams & projects. Strong organizational skills, effective planning, and proven track record of execution are a must.

Strong communication skills, including written, oral, listening and presentation / facilitation to both small and large groups.

Requires three (3) years of project management experience in leading cross-functional teams, and three (3) years of experience using Lean Enterprise tools and techniques.

Requires three (3) years of experience with the following software : AutoCAD, MS Access, Microsoft Project, and SPC Excel.

Experience with reading and creating technical prints, Bill of materials, and CAD software required. Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite required;

MS Project experience a plus. Ability to analyze data and present concise message to the business required. Must be flexible to work extended hours and travel to support the requirements of the business.

Outstanding analytical and statistical technical skills. Fiberglass boat manufacturing knowledge is plus. American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and National Marine Manufacturer Association (NMMA) certifications are a plus.
