We are seeking a CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT in Ironwood, Michigan to work at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in the Med Surg department.

The CNA Provides nursing care, within the scope of a CNA, to assigned patients under the direction of the registered nurse.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

BLS required within 90 days of hire

Michigan certification as a CNA required.

Knowledge of computer applications and EMR

Previous experience in an acute health care setting preferred.

Hours : This position is full time; .9 FTE or 32 hours per week. 8-hour shifts, primarily day shift, but may be scheduled some afternoons & nights if needed.

Aspirus Ironwood includes a 25 bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency.

The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24 / 7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually.

The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.

Ironwood, Michigan is located on the far western end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in Gogebic County. Ironwood is approximately 15 miles from the shores of Lake Superior.

The population of Gogebic County is approximately 17,000.

While the community is rural, Ironwood has a local airport that keeps us connected to other major airports. Near by cities include : Duluth, MN 110 miles east, Minneapolis, MN 240 miles southwest, Wausau, WI 120 miles south, and Madison, WI 250 miles south.

Enjoy numerous festivities held throughout the year, various entertainments at the downtown historical theatre, and the Copper Peak snowmobile hill climb.

Hiking can be enjoyed at any of the numerous parks, including the Black River National Forest byway / waterfalls or the Apostle Island National Park.

The area offers an abundance of fishing, hunting, camping, biking, alpine and Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, canoeing / kayaking, and golfing.

The area has 4 local public school systems and several parochial schools where the students benefit from a low student / teacher ratio.

Gogebic County is also home to the Gogebic Community College. Two community theaters as well as a large civic arena provide opportunities for enjoyment.
