REPORTS TO

Manager, Quality Assurance

Summary / Purpose

Provide assistance to QA Manager for leading and mentoring Quality Engineers. Responsible for task completion and Q System maintenance.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities :

Directly supervise warranty and QA technicians.

Monitor organizational compliance with all quality assurance systems, communicate deficiencies and facilitate appropriate countermeasures

Identify organizational quality related knowledge and skill deficiencies and develop and implement warranty / product reliability training for all QA technicians

Establish and implement all process and systems improvements and audit procedures to assure achievement of all customer cleanliness and warranty standards

Evaluate and coordinate modification of all manufacturing equipment, tools and fixtures, work areas, and processes to assure compliance with cleanliness product reliability and warranty performance standards

Develop and maintain tracking systems related to cleanliness, product reliability and warranty performance. Estimate, track and report performance to targets

Work with procurement and other departments to improve purchased components quality and reliability

Work daily overtime and Saturdays and / or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.

Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position is responsible for supervising a department in accordance with policies and procedures.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

Experience in metal removal and close tolerance assembly manufacturing

Strong statistical, analytical, SPC and measuring skills

Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision

Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems

The above may be waived by the department Manager and the Human Resources Manager if the candidate is otherwise qualified.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Math or Physics

ASQ Certification

4-6 years of quality related experience in metal removal and close tolerance assembly manufacturing

Work Environment / Physical Demands :

Sit with intermittent walking

Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, and writing

Communicate (hearing and speech) with individuals in person and by phone

Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.

Maintain a minimum of 8 hours worked / day, 5 days / week

Employee may perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
