Shelter Support Personnel: Position Description:

Introduction: Family Promise of Clark County (FPCC) is a non-profit organization that provides a network of support for homeless families as they work to achieve and sustain independence. Bringing together resources of faith communities, service agencies, and the community, we provide a variety of services for families in need with the goal of obtaining sustainable housing and long term independence.

Goal of the Position: To provide support to staff and volunteers on an as needed basis to ensure adequate coverage and safety for guests in our program. Position will be primarily at the rotational shelter site.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide overnight coverage at our shelter site, ensuring that safety policies are being followed

2. Respond to guest’s needs, and find creative solutions to ensure guest and volunteer satisfaction

3. Provide administrative support to staff. This may include data entry, conducting research on various projects, and other administrative duties.

4. Maintain a list of current job leads and housing resources for case manager to provide to current program guests.

5. Responsibilities may include transport our guests to and from our day center location when required

6. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must be 18 year of age or older

Ability to lift at least 30 pounds

Must have high school diploma or GED

Knowledge of basic computer software and electronic communication tools

Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Must be customer focused, with an ability to react to changing environments and deescalate conflicts effectively

Ability to pass a background check

Schedule: This is a non-permanent part-time position, with hours varying each week. We are unable to provide any commitment to the number of hours that will be available each week. Some weeks there may be upwards of 40 hours available and other weeks zero hours. Primary shifts will be 7 days a week, between the hours of 5 pm-8:00 am. In most cases a 24 hour advance notice would be provided for available shifts, however in emergency situations, you may be called to see if you would be available to work a same day shift. The ideal candidate will be flexible enough to take on shifts with little notice.

Salary: $16.00 per hour
