Ensure accurate and timely transmission of information exchanged between the hospital and the AHS PSO. Successfully design and implementation of patient safety innovations Stay apprised of changes within the hospital to ensure that new processes consider potential interactions with patient safety and makes recommendations Maintaining effective working relationships with leadership (administrative, medical staff, managerial) and hospital staff. Serving on facility committees at the direction on the AVP of Clinical Excellence and Risk Management related to patient safetyPSC must have a data-driven mindset and understand and use basic statistical methods and analytic methods. Strong communication skills, presentation skills and educate staff on patient safety programs Responsible to immediately notify AVP of Clinical Excellence and Risk Management of any issues that may meet the definition of sentinel event. Able to complete a timeline of patient care chart to review possible patient safety events.Develop and present at patient safety meetings. Able to work independently and collaboratively with other departmentsAble to make recommendations regarding patient safety in policies and programs Assist with the organization of requirements to accreditation of hospital and departments at the direction of leaders Complete regular scheduled safety rounds in departments and share findings with department leaders. Monitor the Joint Commission website and work alongside the clinical excellence and risk management department for any required action plansMonitor hospital compliance with CMS condition of participations and notify appropriate leaders with any deviations from standards. QualificationsWhat You Will Need:Patient Safety Coordinator should demonstrate a proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs with knowledge of all windows applications, general presentation equipment and adaptable to new software programs is desirable. Effective communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Strong presentation skills and interpersonal skills required. Expected to communicate with all levels of management, clinical and non- clinical staff, patients, visitors, volunteers, other organizations effectively and professionally. Ability to prioritize the demands of the ever-changing workload and balancing the department’s roles with their individual challenges. Excellent visual acuity to work with data and software; must be meticulous and detail oriented with excellent organizational skills. Minimum 5 years in clinical healthcare settingMinimum BSN degree, with active unrestricted Florida Nursing Licensure Current unrestricted Florida Nursing Licensure Job Summary:The Patient Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Risk Management and Clinical Excellence teams in identifying patient safety opportunities and reducing safety risks. The Patient Safety Coordinator (PSC)is responsible to implementation of our Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) and oversee patient safety work product (PSWP) submission to AdventHealth Patient Safety Organization. The Patient Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Clinical Excellence team in continuously improving quality of patient care through providing day to day support services. This department and position is an essential component to drive and direct a vision of quality and safe care as well as compliance to national and state regulations and as such must constantly motivate, enthuse and persuade staff to contribute to promoting ownership of the organizations agenda.
