Answering the phone for safety or compliance related calls, assisting drivers with questions or issues when they are at the terminal, routine paper auditing, driver training functions, fleet documentation, and other Safety department functions.

Min 2 years Experience in Safety related job in trucking industry

Employment verification of drivers

Prepare drivers’ files (DQ, Drugs and Alcohol and HR files)

Conduct orientation of drivers – new hires

Handle and answer any questions from drivers regarding Lease Agreements (Owner Operators), Policies and Procedures Hand Book

Answer phone calls for the Safety Department

Filing drivers’ documentation in the appropriate file

Manage random drug tests of drivers every quarter

Prepare loan agreements for drivers and coordinate deductions to be made with Accounting

Hand out applications to driver candidates, review applications received via email

Send driver to anti-doping

Send alerts and notification to drivers via Whatsapp

Maintain updated information and announcements for drivers at their lounge area (monitor, bulletins, etc.)

Must be well versed in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to multitask and adhere to all procedures

Good communication skills

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to be in stationary position 50% of the time, move, traverse; operate objects such as computers, printers, copiers, fax machine and telephone; and other tools or controls; ascend/descend; communicate, exchange information. The employee may occasionally move or transport office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and some weekend work may be required.

Ensures all driver safety manuals, programs, policies and practices are current and meet the needs of the company

· FMCSA knowledge and implementation depending on business needs.

· Determine qualification of new driver applicants, training requirements and remedial/corrective action for current drivers.

· Provides appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for drivers.

· Truck Drivers training and development including all necessary information about safety.

· Reviews reporting of all accidents/incidents for determination of cause and preventability, identifying potential trends to be addressed in future training efforts.

· Ensures and promotes a consistent driver safety culture throughout the organization.

· Update permits required to operate (2290) and follow procedures around the IFTA report.

· Equipment plates management.

· C-TPAT procedures knowledge and ability to apply them on a daily basis to achieve a good standing.

· Maintain DOT and OSHA records.

· Maintain effective communication with drivers in order to identify any opportunities for improvement, and provide solutions if any problems arise.

· Maintain effective communication with operations manager in order to identify strengths and opportunities dealing with safety and how the company operates.

· Conduct investigation of accidents.

· Enforce Department of Transportation (DOT) safety policies and practices, analyzing cause and effect, and implementing solutions

· Address all court orders and citations to comply with company’s requirements. Assist driver with concerns and questions in regards to their driving record and requirements.

· Ensures contract compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations; ensures that related record keeping and reporting requirements are met and maintained; provides support in implementing the approved recommendations

· Ensure that all drivers go through pre-employment drug testing and random testing throughout their period of employment with the company.
