Situated within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, the Medical Programme Directorate provides the management and administration of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree programme, oversight of its vision, and provides implementation process to improve efficiency and integration of current and new initiatives.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Group Services Manager to lead and manage the provision of administrative, management of professional staff, financial and strategic operational activities within the Medical Programme Directorate.

This role will suit candidates who have worked in the tertiary education sector or within complex organisations, where you have developed excellent people management skills and display flexible thinking and the ability to develop and implement projects and initiatives. You will have the ability to partnerwith multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure the operational activities of the programme are carried out coherently and efficiently.

Key Accountabilities for this position include:

  • Manage and co-ordinate the provision of academic administration and professional services, to support academic activities.
  • Support academic head with an overview of the curriculum, annual planning and strategic operational planning.
  • Contributing to the oversight of the AMC accreditation process to ensure that the Medical Programme Directorate has the capacity and capability to deliver services to the required standard.
  • Collaborating with internal/ external partners and staff at clinical sites, ensuring that the services provided meet agreed-on service levels and deadlines.
  • Provide strong, effective management to staff to ensure they contribute towards the team and faculty strategic goals.

  • You will demonstrate the ability to manage and co-ordinate the provision of academic administration and professional services, to support academic activities.
  • Proven people management skills and experience.
  • You will have the ability to translate complex demands into effective delivery.
  • Be highly proficient in using computerised systems including Microsoft Office and university-wide enterprise systems.
  • Be able to show innovation and strive for continuous improvement.
  • You will be an effective decision-maker who is able to deliver result
