JOB SUMMARY

For Our Future Wisconsin seeks a motivated, outgoing, and results-driven organizer to support our voter outreach efforts in Hudson/Menomonie. At For Our Future, you’ll safely engage area voters about how they can make a plan to vote for new leaders who will fight for better jobs, health care, racial justice, clean air and water and more. You will be supplied with PPE and trained in how to engage with voters in a COVID-19 responsible way to keep you and the community safe. We are looking for friendly, outgoing folks who have familiarity with Hudson/Menomonie and comfort working long hours. For Our Future offers health insurance, paid sick days, cell phone reimbursement, and travel reimbursement.

This is a full-time position through at least November 3, 2020.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Engage in door-to-door safe in-person organizing, building relationships with voters to persuade and motivate them to vote for progressive candidates and issues.

Meet assigned goals associated with each metric on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Report daily on quantitative and qualitative metrics, ensuring timely and accurate data entry and reporting.

Assist in building and managing safe, in-person outdoor community events as needed, including tabling, in execution of our field and organizing strategy.

Work with field leadership to implement new outreach strategies in your region.

Attend weekly scheduled calls and meetings.

Attend trainings on voter contact tactics, program strategy, and safety.

Adhere to all health and safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Previous campaign or other voter contact experience preferred, as a volunteer or staff member.

Strong communications skills.

Customer service skills.

Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN or a willingness to learn is preferred.

Ability to work long and irregular hours.

Ability to work independently and in team settings.

Strong interpersonal communications skills.

Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Bilingual experience is a plus, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Door-to-door canvassing is an essential function of this job. Employees may be required to work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold. This position is expected to interact regularly face-to-face with voters, volunteers or community partners. Employees will be provided with health and safety training, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Employees will be required to work outside of normal business hours including weekends, holidays, and nights.

Employees may be required to abide by certain blackout dates during a campaign cycle, and generally not allowed to take more than 2-3 days off consecutively during blackout periods. Emergencies will not be affected by this policy.
