Mechanic

Alaska Scrap & Recycling in Anchorage is now hiring a full time Mechanic.

Compensation: $17.25 - 34.91 (DOE & CDL Status)

Employment Type: Full Time Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm

MUST be able to pass drug testing and background check.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Five (5) years of previous experience required performing general mechanical repairs as described in "Essential Duties" below; Three (3) years heavy truck/equipment and brake repair experience, preferred. Previous experience in the operation of heavy equipment and commercial driving, preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Mechanical repairs to all Company vehicles and equipment, to include independent diagnosis and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems, drivelines and clutches, brake repair and/or replacement, tire repair and/or replacement, and component rebuilding of engines, transmissions, differentials, etc.

Welding associated with the above duties

Preventative maintenance inspections and servicing on all Company vehicles and equipment

Operating various types of electrical diagnostic equipment, overhead crane, truck hoist, forklift, electric and gas welding equipment, etc.

Completing and maintaining vehicle documentation and paperwork related to all repair orders, inspections, and maintenance
