Job Description

  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders of the Federal Executive and Congressional branches, as well as select State governments; in order to expand Huawei’s understanding and thought leadership in government and the ICT industry.
  • Monitor and perform research and analysis of legislative and regulatory actions at Federal and State levels to support several business groups for the company
  • Participate in various trade associations and interest group events and activities.
  • Organize and facilitate high level external stakeholders’ visits, events, and activities to secure positive engagement with the company.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years demonstrated experience of public affairs management.
  • Strong communication, networking, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships of trust with a wide range of individuals and organizations in the technology industry and with State and Federal government stakeholders.
  • Prefer experience in issue management in areas of cyber security, international trade, and telecommunications; as well as experience in corporate communications and brand promotion.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and handle complex issues, coupled with skills to translate insights into sound analysis and advice to the different business groups within the company.
  • Ability to work across cultures with teams of geographically dispersed people.
  • Possess extensive understanding of the operation of main institutions of the Federal Government and select State governments.
  • Experience in public affairs and communications activity using strong oral and written skills working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or other further degree preferred, ideally in government, law, and politics or similar disciplines.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English a plus, but not a requirement.
