ABOUT THE POSITION:
The HVAC Senior Technician position is a full-time position located at Camp Roberts, in San Luis Obispo County, which is a secure military facility. The facility contains numerous buildings with various HVAC systems, all of which serve critical functions. This position will require a strong professional background in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a variety of complex HVAC systems, including large commercial systems and chillers. The successful candidate will need to possess strong technical HVAC skills as well as supervisory, project management, customer service and record keeping ability. Current possession of Section 608 Technician Certification is preferred. The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a military background check.
Candidates who successfully complete all components of this recruitment process will be placed on an eligibility list. The eligibility list is active for 12-months and may be used to fill additional vacancies including lower-level positions determined to have similar duties and requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Minimum of Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in all HVAC, air conditioning and refrigeration related work as well as in general building maintenance and repair work, with at least One (1) years leading or supervising the work of others.
Education: Any combination Equivalent to graduation from high school.
