Description of role:

Our growing dental practice needs a Dental Hygienist to join our close-knit team on a full time basis. We serve all demographics of the population, focused on Periodontal disease, and we operate a busy office with the highest level of integrity and ethical professional standards possible. In addition we focus on preventive care, perio maintenance appointments, and also motivates, educates, and provides excellent treatment. The ideal candidate will have a calm, reassuring and friendly demeanor as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced atmosphere.

Tasks:

Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions,identifying reoccurring periodontal disease/recession, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck exam, dental charting, etc

Utilizing Dentrix software and Taking digital dental radiographs (Dexis and Nomad X-ray Machine)

Removing calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth- Performing Scaling and Root Planning as required

Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (ie. tooth brushing, flossing, water pik, and nutritional counseling)

Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on periodontal disease and oral health

Performing post operative surgical, and annual implant checks

Performing documentation and office management activities

Skills and requirements:

Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene required (Bachelor's preferred)

Current state license required

2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with perio patients preferred

Basic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules

Current CPR certification required
