Medical Appointment Driver

WheelCare, a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Company, is looking for non-emergency medical drivers to pick up and transport clients to and from medical appointments and other various venues around the Florida panhandle area.

JOB DUTIES:

Safely transport clients to medical and non-medical appointments

Safely transport non-ambulatory and ambulatory clients

Safely operate wheelchair van (company vehicle provided);

Keeping accurate logs electronically and on paper.

Clearly communicate with dispatchers and clients

Have a good geographic knowledge of the Panhandle Area.

Know how to operate a smart phone

All drivers are responsible to keep their vehicles clean and maintain a daily maintenance log and check vehicle fluids for proper levels.

REQUIREMENTS:

All applicants must be at least 23 years of age

Must possess HS diploma or GED equivalent

Must be able to drive a Van with Wheel Chair ramp and Car.

Clean driving record with no DUI/DWI's and No Suspensions

Hiring is dependent on passing a drug screen, background and MVR check

Must be able to assist participants, some heavy lifting may be required

Must be punctual and be flexible with schedule in relation to business needs AM and PM times available

Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with customers and dispatchers

Bilingual is a plus, but must speak, read and write English clearly

Must have an ability to be trained, coached and counseled

Must adhere to dress code

Familiarity with Panhandle Medical Facilities is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to safely escort clients in manual wheelchairs

Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and stretch in confided spaces

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time

Ability to occasionally lift up to 55

Ability to safely assist clinic walk with or without a walker.

Eyesight must be in compliance with the standards set forth by the D.O. T. for day and night driving; may be corrected with the aid of prescription eye wear.

Hearing of low and high frequencies is required and may be corrected with the use of hearing aids.

You drive our vehicles. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays. We do not transport Covid patients.
