LPN Nurse
Vacancy expired!
I am looking for female candidates for private nursing care for myself. I am 29 years of age and suffer from muscular dystrophy. I use a powered wheelchair for mobility, and I have a g-tube for feeding, and I require physical help with everything including dressing and personal needs. I live in the Melbourne, Florida area.
I am a busy, self-motivated person whose physical body happens to be failing. I recently moved back to my family home in Melbourne after living independently in Orlando with 2 roommates, and prior to that attending and graduating from UCF. I stay busy throughout the day on my computer and getting out and about in my wheelchair accessible van. Candidates must have a current driver’s license and speak English fluently. I have 2 small dogs living with me.
I am authorized to receive 24/7 care from a licensed LPN nurse. Each nurse is allowed to work up to 40 hours a week. Payroll is processed by Medicaid and paid every 2 weeks – timesheet log-in is required with an APP on your phone.
Manuel lifting in/out of my wheelchair would be required. I weigh about 85 lbs and am reasonably tall. I cannot use a Hoyer lift so candidates need to be in good physical condition.
All my current nurses work a very regular schedule and have been with me for a number of years. The following shifts are currently available, and I am looking for nurses to fill some, or all of these shifts.
Friday Evenings (night shift) – 10pm – 6am (8 hours)
Saturday Evenings (night shift) – 10pm – 8am (10 hours)
Sunday Day (day shift) – 8am – 8pm (12 hours)
Sunday Evenings (night shift) – 8pm – 8am (12 hours)
Full and complete training will be given by my mother who is my primary backup caregiver.
REQUIREMENTS: Current LPN license. Shifts will start as soon as employment paperwork is processed by the insurance company.
