Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:30PM.
Position Summary:
The Electronic Service Technician II is responsible for troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis with land mobile radio systems. The technician is responsible to work with portable, mobile, and occasionally base station radios. The Electronics Service Technician II should have solid knowledge of electronics theory, advanced operations of radio equipment, functions of test and diagnostic equipment (Analyzers, power meters, and other specialized equipment) as well as capable to work with computer software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Test/troubleshoot to component level complex circuit card assemblies’ modules and assembled units
Use general purpose and complex or specialized test equipment to perform complex testing of components and assemblies
Assemble data and assist in the upkeep of documentation
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain specialized electronic test fixtures
Deal with more complex problems of test/troubleshooting
Assist engineering personnel in setting up test configurations for new designs
Develop theoretical working knowledge of complex digital or RF/Analog circuits
Understand the proper use of specialized test equipment
Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment and the nature of technical problems and possible solutions including part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies
Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization and quality control
Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and make recommendations for changes in product or test method
Ability to troubleshoot and fault isolate complex CCAs down to the component level with some guidance
Ability to understand and operate spectrum analyzers and power meters
The RF Electronics Technician must have the ability to work in a production environment and follow standard manufacturing processes to include ESD requirements

Knowledge & Skills:
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point required
Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
Good analytical skills
Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Confidentiality and time management
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics
Experience: 5 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Customer service training talking with customers on the phone
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Work typically takes place in a normal production environment requiring: sitting, walking, lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing and seeing
Operate a PC and other office equipment
Travel between floors and office buildings may be required
Environmental conditions: noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicals
